Troops of the 21 Brigade of 7 Division Nigerian Army on Thursday, April 27, recorded big success as they gunned down 15 Boko Haram fighters in Sambisa Forest, Borno state.
It was gathered that the soldiers also recovered huge weapons and artillery from the terrorists.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Kingsley Samuel, the deputy director of Army public relations, 7 division.

The troops killed 15 of the terrorists, injured others while destroying 1 vehicle bound improvised explosive device (VBIED), belonging to the terrorists as they also recovered three mortar tubes, one PKM Gun, one G3 rifle, one Buffalo Gun truck mounted with Long Barrel Shilka gun, two general purpose machine gun, AK-47 rifles and two FN rifles.
Victor Ezugwu, acting general officer commanding (GOC) 7 Division of the Nigerian army, praised the soldiers for “delivering a devastating deep punch to Boko Haram terrorists leading to the capture of large quantities of terrorists’ equipment”.
The statement read: “The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu has commended troops of 21 Brigade of the Division for delivering a devastating deep punch to Boko Haram terrorists leading to the capture of large quantities of terrorists' equipment.
“The commendation came on the heels of troops display of bravery that led to successful and decisive repelling Boko Haram terrorists attempted incursion into their location in Sambisa forest, Borno State early morning today, Thursday, 27th April 2017.
