Kogi Govt – We’re Not Owing Anybody More Than 12 Months Salary [VIDEO]


Edward Onoja, Chief of State to the Kogi State Governor Yahya Bello has discredited claims that State workers have not been paid for 15months.

He said those who haven’t been paid are those who weren’t cleared during the Kogi Staff verification exercise. He said all those cleared have been paid.

According to him, those complaining over non-payment are those who were only recently cleared due to the kindness of Governor Bello. He said the most owed is 12 months salary.

Lamido again, How ex-Gov Lamido battled to get bail

After four days of incarceration, a magistrate court sitting in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, on Thursday granted the state’s former governor, Sule Lamido, bail on self recognition. Lamido’s bail came despite a desperate plea by prosecutor Ikenna Ekpunobi, who told Magistrate Muhammed Lamin that the accused should not be granted. He had argued that if granted bail, the former governor could jeopardise peace in the state. Magistrate Lamin, disagreed with the counsel as well as refuted a report by the police allegedly linking Lamido to violence by his supporters. In response to the prosecutor’s prayer, counsel to Lamido, Felix John, said that his client remained innocent until proven guilty, adding that evidence tendered in respect to why the former governor is being tried was only a documentary and as such there was no witness. 100 level UI law student jumps to death during show at her hall of residence.

A 100 level female law student of the University of Ibadan identified as Miss Effiong Imarbong lost her life when she fell to her death during a show at her hall of residence after reportedly showing signs of restlessness. According to a statement signed by Olatunji Oladejo, the institution’s Director of Public Communications, the law student died when she jumped from a dangerous position during the show and she gave up the ghost almost immediately. The statement by Oladejo reads thus: “It is with deep regret that the management of the University of Ibadan announces the sudden death of Miss Effiong Deborah Imarbong, a 100 Level student in our Faculty of Law on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. “Her sudden death, however, remains a mystery.
